According to Toyota, more than 46 million Toyota Corollas have been sold since its launch in 1966. Today the Toyota Corolla is known for its efficiency & versatility, in fact the Corolla has been recently elected as a finalist for the 2020 European Car of the Year award. This year Toyota introduced the 12th generation Toyota Corolla to the market with an exclusively hybrid range, with the discontinuation of the 1.2T turbo petrol engine. The Toyota Corolla will now sport an all hybrid line-up with 1.8 and 2.0-litre self-charging powertrains.
In Toyota’s words: ‘The new line-up carries forward Toyota’s improved 120bhp 1.8-litre system and the new, 181bhp 2.0-litre hybrid which made its debut with the model. This dual hybrid strategy – also applied to the new C-HR crossover – gives drivers the traditional rewards of Toyota’s self-charging hybrid technology with low emissions, fuel efficiency and a relaxing drive, plus improved response and, with the 2.0-litre, greater power on demand, effortless acceleration and added fun-to-drive quality.’
‘Toyota will be offering the new-look Corolla range available in Icon, Icon Tech, Design, Excel and GR Sport grad for the Hatchback and with the addition of TREK trip, Touring Sports. The Corolla Saloon, powered by the 1.8-litre hybrid system, is offered in Icon, Icon Tech and Design specifications.’
Furthermore, every Toyota 2020 Corolla will include Toyota’s latest multimedia system, which includes the state of the art Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functions.
Since its introduction the Toyota Corolla has always been a success in the Maltese market, with consistent steady sales. The Debono Group is thrilled to announce that the Toyota Corolla will only be available as a hybrid, as this falls hand-in-hand with our move towards embracing a more sustainable mobility sector. #forwardwithDebono
