Warranty Officer – Michael Debono Ltd

Michael Debono Ltd is seeking to appoint a Warranty Officer. Reporting to the Client Relations Manager, the Warranty Officer shall be responsible for:

– Verifying the manufacturer’s or supplier’s criteria before claims are processed
– Authorising all warranty claims
– Completing the documents required to process the claims, forwarding to the manufacturer and follows up
– Ensuring that the amounts claimed correspond to the criteria of the manufacturer
– Following up on claims, to obtain prompt payment
– Completing pre-authorization applications in contentious cases, forwarding them to the manufacturer and follows up
– Identifying exceptional cases which may result in special agreements with the manufacturer; such as good will from supplier, completing the required documents and follows up
– Reviewing claims denied by the manufacturer and, if applicable, resubmitting them as soon as possible or obtaining authorisation to cancel them
– Ensuring that clients are invoiced for uncovered and unauthorised claims
– Reviewing /reconciling credits (amounts claimed)
– Reviewing claims exceeding the time frames prescribed by the manufacturer
– Ensuring the bodywork claims are processed and photographs are taken by the Body Shop department
– Providing accounts with documents required to process the accounting paperwork, the amounts receivable, payments and credits for warranties
– Explaining the warranty provisions to new customers when required
– Advising internal personnel in warranty provisions or changes
– Ensuring that defective parts are returned to the manufacturer when required
– Filing and sort claim sheets in Box Files
– Staying up to date on all the manufacturer’s recalls and bulletins
– Making contact with clients regarding recalls and bulletins
– Working closely with the after-sales and bodywork department shops on warranty claim issues
– Performing other tasks, based on management requirements and instructions.

The Requirements

The Warranty Officer shall:

– Have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
– Be familiar with Microsoft desktop operating systems and Microsoft Office applications
– Be a team player
– Possess a clean police conduct
– Perform required certifications as per company and supplier recommendations

The position is offered on a full-time basis, from Monday to Friday.
